AUS 77-69 TUR

The Crocs have claimed bronze at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup in Istanbul, producing an all-round performance to defeat host nation Türkiye 77-69.

Australia came out firing from the opening tip, with John Aryang throwing down an early dunk to spark a fast start. The Crocs raced to a 6-0 lead before a pair of emphatic slams from Basaran helped fuel a blistering 13-2 opening run.

Hamilton caught fire from deep with back to back triples as Australia took complete control of the contest, finishing the opening quarter ahead 30-12. Pushing onward, the Crocs maintained a steady hand throughout the second quarter, and held a commanding lead 49-32 at the half.

Türkiye attempted to claw their way back into the game during the third term, applying physical pressure and trimming the margin to just seven points. Luke Paul stepped up offensively to steady the Crocs as the hosts continued to push.

Australia entered the final quarter leading 61-54 and held their nerve despite Türkiye refusing to go away, knocking down multiple threes late to stay within striking distance.

Greg Vandejagt's Crocs responded when it mattered most, holding the lead to close out a memorable bronze medal victory.
